Sue leads students in discovering their ability to write their own amazing stories. Through the use of very pointed tasks they discover they have something to tell and they learn how to tell it. Students are encouraged to help paint a picture where they begin by recalling times when they were really good or bad or happy or in trouble...its happened to us all. Students go on to critique their own writing by filling in the critical parts of any story...,the people, the place, the problem and the solution.
This is a four-day workshop where the students are encouraged and coached along the way. The culmination of the workshop is a gathering where student-selected authors will read their pieces. Parents can be invited. Mrs. Roseberry works with the teachers as well in helping to reinforce the writing skills of the students. This program not only helps to build the writing skills of the students but also builds their self-esteem and confidence.
Stories from Mrs. Roseberrys own life are woven into the sessions offering to provide a model for the students work.
