Throughout the course of our lives, there are landmark birthdays. It seems that quite a few are crammed into the early years…the first – the sixth (old enough to go to big school); 13 (becoming a teenager); fifteenth and sixteenth (bar mitzvahs, quinceaneras, sweet 16, old enough to begin driving); eighteenth (graduation, old enough to vote); twenty-one (legal age for drinking alcohol). After that, the landmark years spread out and seem to come up once every decade.
